JLW solutions and Mellex jump into action with a distress call from MV Leslie Anne’s owners after falling foul to the power of nature, the vessel was forced aground by the powerful storm weather and mechanical failure.

With limited window to react due to falling tidal patterns a selected team rapidly mobilised equipment to site, and engineered a plan to recover the vessel avoiding any further damage to its hull or a adverse environmental impact to the beach.

Create suitable access and egress to the beach and build a ramp to off load the excavator and crawler crane

Weight reduction and ballast pumping to get the vessel floating in as shallow water as possible.

Digging preparation removing sand deposited by the storm, creating a Channel to allow the vessel to turn ahead.

And away it goes, success, with the help of multiple sand anchor and winches, a large tug pulling over ~500m away, and the help of 3 excavators, and expertly coordinated by Darren

Reinstatement to original levels,

Off to sea, Anchor recover.

Above and beyond effort by everyone involved, cross company collaboration was key to success.
